What am I doing wrong at work?

I started a job as a security guard on 15/3 last year

We had two weeks intensive training and then 6 months probation.

At the end of the 6 months you either got the job or your probation was extended by another 3 months...after that they would either extend it again or fire you.

I am on my 2nd period of extension!

Man this sounds horrible. Id look for a new job. Why wait for them to fire you? Those people arent very nice. They are playing with peoples lives. It sounds like they are just users. Very sad!

@Wol62 You have a pair. Id just hate to see you get used and then hurt and worried. It just isnt fair. Thank for BC

Seems you are being used.
If employed full time do you get benefits you are not entitled to while on probation?
Annual leave, sick leave, 401 contributions?
There must be a clandestine reason for doing this.
Look up the award for your industry to find the answers and legality or otherwise of what they are doing.
Understanding that if you were to point out the rules they more than likely would fire you.
My advice would be to start looking elsewhere.

Here is the first thing you’re doing wrong you’re working for somebody else that’s the first thing you’re doing wrong I only had a job for 10 years. I’ve been self-employed ever cents. I’m sure you’re really good at some thing everybody is make the move go be self-employed

@Wol62 hard work long hours cost me a marriage I think I’d give the company back. They have my marriage but that’s over and done with is always consequences. That was mine but I’d give everything back but things are good for me. I have a great relationship with my ex-wife and doesn’t hurt have money. Makes life a little easier not better just easier.

@Funlov Sorry that it cost you that dude, really I am, but again thanks for all the kind words, the positivity and I am loving your success story.

@Wol62 I did it you can do it we’re no different we’re just different people, but as individuals we all have a drive to reach down and do it if that’s what you choose
Maybe you should be asking them

@metaldog Well it's brain dead job, no interaction, little chance of promotion and the pay is pretty bad.
@Wol62 I'm sure you'll find something better

@metaldog Thank you and everyone else that has faith in me, that is awesome, hope your job keeps you happy.

Have you violated any rules or procedures? Do you have excessive or unexcused absenteeism? Have there been any complaints from your clients or management? What is the stated basis for keeping you on probation?

Sorry to hear that
They have to give you reasons. They cannot just keep extending your probation. Set a meeting. Find the reasons. Are you sure you want this kind of job?

You’ve got the training and nearly a year of work experience now. Maybe you can parley that into security work someplace else.

What guard company are you working for?
