My sneakers have worn out to the point of there being a hole in the fabric on a side which is visible as a crocodile's eye opening and closing

When I walk. Not that I'm ashamed of it. I couldn't care less about the shoes I wear. Just the frustration of not getting paid enough to be able to afford new sneakers while also paying for food and self grooming. I bought this pair 18 months ago and have worn it almost every single day since. Good quality chaps. Got them on a discounted price too. I just wish that for the step count required in my job, they would pay me a parallel amount. I shouldn't be preoccupied with impending financial crisis if they really want me to perform for their company.
And don't they want me to be presentable?

They operate on the perspective that there are many of you so they don't really care if you leave or not.

@SW-User yep. If you leave, jobs are hard to find, and there's always someone to replace you, just as you leave to replace someone else in a different company. I have yet to read Franz kafka, I've heard he vented a lot about the struggles of the middle class man in his work.
