I wonder if this one place will let me work for them in a temporary position knowing that I'm currently looking for something else for the long term?

It's listed as a temporary position. I have no idea how long I would be there but it would ideally not be very long.

If it’s a temp position I wouldn’t worry about leaving it. As long as you give the notice that is required I think you are good.
