Crap… I have to give my assistant her evaluation today

I was supposed to do it last month, but put it off because I had been out for over a month with an injury and wanted to monitor her a bit more, instead of giving her a review right off the bat when I came back. I remember my first evaluation and it was a bit disheartening learning all the things I needed to improve upon. While she does do a good job, there is room for improvement. I know it’s probably gonna affect her much the same way it did me back then. But hey, that’s what these things are for, right? To inform how to do your job better. I just hate being in positions like this. I don’t know how people can get excited for these sorts of things, like “Oh, now I get to boss people around!”

I’ll just get it over with…

I occasionally have them fill out their own evaluation. Then, if there is anything I REALLY want them to work on I put it in the comments section. Surprisingly, or maybe not surprisingly, people already know what they do well and what needs work lol.
