Goddamn so frustrating when people don't appreciate the work that goes into making art

I think people expect anyone who is creative to want to do things… like…. For free

Even cutting/coloring hair, I don’t do it as a profession anymore… but anyone who is in my immediate reality asks for me to do their hair, and doesn’t even offer payment or think anything of it

Also, after people saw my kitchen table, they were all”I would love for you to do a piece of furniture for me”…. Again, no offer of payment or realization that it takes time and effort (and I over analyze my shit and dislike it often)

When i was a kid my friend liked horses so i drew horses from a calendar i had and her mom thought i traced them 😤

All labour is skilled labour!

But you like art so therefore you’re enjoying it anyway so give me a bunch of stuff for an embarrassingly low rate please.

I could only imagine how defeating it is to dedicate oneself to art only to not enjoy any success from it

They are comparing the Prices to crapola they can get cheap from China, I believe that’s a part of it.

It is their loss and lack of imagination.

Be thankful that you're not them...and missing what they miss.

If they think that’s all it’s worth, they should give it a go themselves. 😆

I am sorry, people just have no idea that things that are not mass produced are worth so much more. The time and creativity out into a piece makes it so.
