Nasty people at work.

I work at McDonald's and I swear some people at my work are so disgusting. One guy has something mentally wrong with him and he literally dresses like a 5 year old. He wears no socks. His underwear is hanging out of his pants sometimes. If he's wearing a belt it will be all twisted. And he smells. And I don't mean underarm odor. There's another guy that is a MANAGER and he had bad body odor today. There's a woman that is always slobbering and doesn't change her gloves. No matter what she touches. And puts her face and mouth on the food trays that she has to pull out to make food. And she puts her bare hand that she probably doesn't wash right on the fries when she grabs them. Come on people this is a restaurant! What really kills me about it is that management doesn't say anything to these people.

I work in a pub/restaurant and my bosses set very high standards for staff. Unkempt appearance is not tolerated. Female staff must have their hair up. Hands must be washed after each table has been served. Uniform (polo shirt) must be spotless and ironed and only the top button can be undone. No jewellery (except ear rings) and no long or false nails. The emphasis on cleanliness and hygiene is top priority
I have a friend that works at Hardees. He told me when customers piss him off he'll either "accidently" drop the food on the floor or spit in it. I never -ever- go to those fast food places. I know there's good people that work there like yourself, but in general I'm too distrustful.

@PrincessVelvetI don't blame you.

Homemade food is always the best.

I hate to tell you this, but wearing no socks and letting the underwear show is a fashion statement, not carelessness. I don't know about the other examples.
Pecifini · 46-50, F
@ServantOfTheGoddess his underwear isn't just showing it will be hanging out like someone pulled them out. In random places

You would think that with Google Reviews, and other social media where businesses are shamed, any business would put a stop to this type of behaviour.
Pecifini · 46-50, F
@chrisCA right?

Lots of businesses have employees like this. It takes a lot to get rid of these people.

Now we know where all the extra kick in flavour comes from

Ill be skipping the fast food for a while

Shouldn't really be taking it out on the guy with mental issues, maybe try and find out about his back ground, does he have people who look after him, maybe try and contact them. As for the others, theyre just dirty
Pecifini · 46-50, F
@mrh1972 I'm not taking it out on him. I'm just saying. Yes he lives with his mom

I’d seek another job. You can still work in the food industry if you want, it’s a huge industry.
MrAboo · 36-40, M
@Pecifini I work at a big grocery store. I don’t work with the food, just in the general merchandise department. There’s always something that needs to be done and overtime is attainable quite easily. No being sent home because there aren’t enough sales going on. The people who do work with the food all appear to be well kept, clean, and no 30 year old teenagers. My coworkers are friendly and well kept. Every body does their part and very little slacking on the job. They do talk on the job in the stock room and on the floor. Every one is friendly that I’ve interacted with. After being out of the fast food industry for a year and a half I’m never going back.

I encourage you to do so. Go where they will reward you for your hard work. I worked 2 years at Dairy Queen, they relied on me, but I couldn’t get full time with any benefits and they never gave me any promotion or incentive to stay. Towards the end they increased the pay, but we’re making the existing employees wait while new hires got the pay raise. Not worth my time. Fuck Dairy Queen and ever working fast food again. When I went to my current job they promoted me within the first 6 months.

Good luck.

@MrAboo i had always said that I would never go back to fast food. But here I am. And i regret it. It's not just the nasty people. They are literally slave drivers. I do prep and my boss told me the other day that I needed to get it done faster yet she stops me so I can do ohter things.
MrAboo · 36-40, M
@Pecifini part time slave labor describes fast food very well. There were numerous times my manager would have me clock out at the end of the night just to go back to work and finish what I needed to. On my own time. No bonuses, or incentives. The people I worked with were mostly great ppl, but there’s no future in fast food unless you like the work and want to be there and overtly express an interest in moving up. A friend I worked with there liked it there. He was promoted to GM, but was demoted. IDK if he’s still there or not. Not all my coworkers were nice though. I’ll never forget about the obese girl joking about shiving us, or the coworkers who never showed to work, but because we were short on employees in a very small town didn’t get fired. I am baffled at how the restaurant never closed.
smileylovesgaming · 31-35, F
Well the underwear showing is a male fashion. No socks is pretty normal

I'm glad I stopped eating fast food, people are disgusting. Can't you report them for health violations?
ShadowWolf · 31-35, M
@Chickie That might mean @Pecifini jeopardizing her job though. But it doesn't sound like it'll be a major loss. The place sounds like a hellhole. And she's better than that.
Pecifini · 46-50, F
@ShadowWolf thank you. Yeah it definitely wouldn't be a major loss
Chickie · F
@ShadowWolf those type of line work aren't usually worth it.
MonaReeves86 · 36-40, F
Like you’re so perfect
Pecifini · 46-50, F
@MonaReeves86 what do you mean? I didn't say that I was perfect but I do know what personal hygiene is. And I have ocd so yeah I wash my hands and change my gloves a lot.
MonaReeves86 · 36-40, F
Well not everyone has ocd problems @Pecifini
Pecifini · 46-50, F
@MonaReeves86 you have no ideas what it's like to battle with ocd. But whether a person has ocd or not they should still be clean. They could make someone sick just by not washing their hands. I don't understand why you're defending unhygienic people. You must be one to think that way...
