I think people who have retired from work are really lucky

No more having to rise at 4am. No more having to deal with cantankerous work mates. No more having to do late night shopping.
I dream about the day when I can put work behind me and start living a live of blissful contentment.

I like retirement. The only downside: it means I’m old.

Don’t get mad at me for saying this but I swear to god everybody I know who retired went back to work because they got bored
Gusman · 61-69, M
@DeluxedEdition My Father never went back to work but he said to me he was so bored he was going to do nothing but drink. He died 18 months later from Cirrhosis
DeluxedEdition · 26-30, F
@Gusman if you can afford to maybe consider working less days 🙂 ?
Eternity · 26-30, M
@DeluxedEdition whenever anybody says this I roll my eyes.

I can easily think of enough shit that I want to do to take up all my time; I have no need of things I don't want to do/ have to do, to keep my time occupied.

They some no pussy gettin motherfuckers with no imaginations must be.

I love my job, I’m not retiring until I’m physically unable to work. The trick is to have a career that you love not a job that you hate going to…

If you are lucky enough to have it, early retirement is gold . A time to relax and enjoy scaled down days & interesting courses & hobbies.
Gusman · 61-69, M
Here it is, 5.10am and I am setting off for work. 🥺
Eddiesolds · 61-69, M
@Gusman Gosh that's just way too early. Is the reason, traffic?
Gusman · 61-69, M
@Eddiesolds No, I start at 6am, like to arrive early, have coffee etc before starting.
35 minute drive to work..
I am not one for arriving 1 minute before start time.
Eddiesolds · 61-69, M
@Gusman Im the same way.
ninalanyon · 61-69, T
I never did any of those things when I was working either, thank goodness!
Eddiesolds · 61-69, M
I cant wait for the day neither. Id find so much to do
Gusman · 61-69, M
@Eddiesolds Same here. Retirement will mean I could spend the majority of my time out in the Aussie Bush.
Eddiesolds · 61-69, M
@Gusman Yes! Youre lucky that you live in paradise.
Tastyfrzz · 61-69, M
I probably could retire if I didn't have to help support someone.
