Ever had a coworker pass away?

I worked for 20 years at a major TV network, and in that time, I knew about a dozen people who passed, including a former boss, and one customer service person who actually died at her desk during the workday.

Earlier this week, a former co-worker, who had been there for 40 years and won several Emmys, died just short of his 67th birthday in May, when he would have retired. That was really sad.
They gave him a nice shout-out on a sports show last week.

It's so difficult to lose someone you worked with. Has anyone else experienced this?

My gosh. Both accounts are tragic in my eyes. I consider 66 young and considering he was right there at retiring. Man. My heart goes out to you and everyone he touched.

Have experienced several passings of coworkers. Had a group of beloved and bubbly coworkers get into a car wreck over a weekend 20 something years ago. They were all teenagers. Bright futures ahead. It shook us all to our cores and took a while to heal from. And had the manager of our store, who was in his 20’s and beat cancer twice, drown while out boating. Totally devastating to everyone who knew him. Was such a great guy. I’ll think of each of them at random moments and wonder what might have been if things had gone another way.
