Ever had a coworker pass away?

I worked for 20 years at a major TV network, and in that time, I knew about a dozen people who passed, including a former boss, and one customer service person who actually died at her desk during the workday.

Earlier this week, a former co-worker, who had been there for 40 years and won several Emmys, died just short of his 67th birthday in May, when he would have retired. That was really sad.
They gave him a nice shout-out on a sports show last week.

It's so difficult to lose someone you worked with. Has anyone else experienced this?

Yes. In the 80s I lost a lot of colleagues and personal friends to AIDS. I spent a lot of times at bedsides and at funerals during that decade.

@bijouxbroussard I'm sorry to hear that.
@uncalled4 When I first left home, I was invited to live in a commune with 11 other people, including the friend who owned the property and his partner. I only stayed for about six months before I got my own place. But of the twelve of us, only me and one other person was alive by 1995. The other woman there died in a car crash, Marty had a heart attack. But everyone else succumbed to AIDS-related illnesses.

@bijouxbroussard those were tragic years. I too, lost too many to aids.
