How would you feel if your job sent you something via email at 8pm last night, with things you need to turn in 1st thing in the morning?

I literally had 1 hour to learn how to do it and turn it in.

I work 8a-4pm.
I DO NOT check work emails after work has ended;and I don't feel like I should have to.

It's just annoying to me. I'm sure they knew they needed this a whole week ago, so why not send out the details a little earlier??

If you are hourly it is against the law to do any work off the clock. They have to pay you double time if you read your email once you punch out.
I used to work for Tmobile and they got nailed by the state for people working off the clock. They had to send every employee in the company a months pay and pay huge fines to the state.
