How would you feel if your job sent you something via email at 8pm last night, with things you need to turn in 1st thing in the morning?

I literally had 1 hour to learn how to do it and turn it in.

I work 8a-4pm.
I DO NOT check work emails after work has ended;and I don't feel like I should have to.

It's just annoying to me. I'm sure they knew they needed this a whole week ago, so why not send out the details a little earlier??

I’m used to it, but with the nature of my work and working with people in multiple time zones, it cannot always be helped. Does your workplace have stated communication hours? In my office, you’re not allowed to call or text on a work-related matter after 9pm or before 7am, unless the parties involved have made an arrangement to be contacted during quiet hours for the particular instance. Some people like to work and push deadlines so they can take Friday off for the most part, just checking in remotely, periodically; hence, some nights they’re working later than quiet hours.

But I would let your supervisor know that you’re not in the regular habit of checking work email once you have left for the day.

@toddr13 they asked me and I told them I don't want to be contacted after work hours unless it's absolutely urgent
