There were two ways of doing a project assigned to me. I did it the way my supervisor told me to. While I was engrossed, the nosy department secretary (AKA Nancee) came by. She stopped, looked over my shoulder and said, "You know, you can do thus and so.."
I ignored her and continued the way the boss wanted me to. I was just finishing and gathering my atuff when Nancee came back. She saw I didn't do it her way and she yelled so everyone heard, "Why did you do it that way when I told you NO?"
I didn't reply, but took it in to my supervisor. She took one look and said, "I heard. I'll take care of it."
I later heard her giving Nancee the third degree.
