Any one else having trouble getting an interview?

I’ve applied over the last 3 weeks to a collective of almost 800 jobs.. jobs that I feel would be an exceptionally great position for my experience. I have my degree, several certs, 10 solid years working for large reputable corporations, am 32 in my prime with regards to having the skills and experience but I’m also not way too old enough hopefully to experience ageists discrimination (which I’m thankful for, I feel awful for people who have experienced that) anyway, I’ve really refined my resume to fit each job I apply for, I’m reaching out with follow ups.. and I haven’t heard a single thing back. A few years ago, I applied for jobs and had about a 30% return which is extremely good. Tons of interviews etc so I know my resume and approach are good. I just also got an application back and in the email it said “we’ve had 2,000 applications in a 2 day period” .. I feel like on Thursdays, after having applied for jobs 6am-6pm.. and every day feeling like “I can do this” by the time I get to Thursday I just want to cry... this process starts over when I give myself a pep talk and start again on Monday with a can do attitude only to find myself crying and so depressed again on Thursday with that feeling of “no responses, no interest” “rejected” .... anyone else in the same boat?

I had a phone interview, and the woman said, within the first minute, that I was not going to be a good fit.

I asked her to elaborate, and she didn't know why she thought what she said.

It's happening to everyone. alot of qualified people on the market now and fewer jobs. its harder to stand out in this market but its going to get better once people can go outside again. dont feel like it means youre deficient or anything like that. people who were qualified for six figure sums are now going down to 70k and things like that. but it'll get back to normal. persist while you can and trust it'll get better

Sweetie you know no one is hiring right now . There is too much uncertainty and no one is interviewing or touching letters or resumes in this virus phobic day and age . Give it a few weeks after things start up again ... then flood the market with your CV . Include a professional head shot ... I always appreciate that when I am reviewing resumes . You’re going to be fine .

There’s a pandemic happening as we speak if you haven’t noticed. Companies are laying people off,not hiring

Yeah it’s like newly posted job listings (within hours) on Indeed, Monster.com etc I am aware businesses are hurting and 30% of the country is unemployed right now @Bagalamaga. I just an defeated by with all of that, how some company’s are still hiring (several essential industries) and frustrated as to why I’m not hearing back..when I’m clearly qualified for a lot of these jobs. Thanks for the reply!

@Brassm0nk3y hold off until the market starting to recover. We are bound to a giant crash before it gets better. Terrible time to look for a job

@Bagalamaga probably good advice. Thanks so much! Sending healthy vibes your way.
