Big Decision

I just got offered a position with my work in a city ways away. I'll be managing a downtown store at the same pay but I'd be saving money in the long run. I have a friend who is going to let me stay with him and split rent for $500 + utilities. Currently my rent is $1000+ but no utilities.

I am leaning toward taking it but I'm afraid of making that call. I've made so many decisions in the last three years in the name of bettering my life and each time it has left me in a worst off spot. If that happens again, I don't think I could take it. Yeah, I'd have my friend as a safety next but mentally I don't know of I can handle another failed attempt to find happiness.

It's easier to just remain where I am in the routine I have as it's familiar even if at times I struggle to stay afloat financially. But I feel so hollow in it. Plus, I just started a D&D campaign and I'm really enjoying it and the people I'm playing with.

I need to have an answer by the am. I still don't know what to do. I don't think I can just decide. I may need to flip a coin or roll a d20 or something.

It’s a sideways move . You really aren’t making a higher wage so why go through the trouble expense of a move? They need to up the pay or you should turn it down ...

@TexChik They won't pay more. The sales targets for my new store are lower so the chances of me meeting sales bonuses are higher. So that is the supplemental income they are offering.

If there is more opportunity for advancement it would be a good move, if this is your chosen career. If it is a more chalanging location and you do well, it will look good on your resume.
