Do you like working the night shift?

indyjoe · 56-60, M
I worked it for 8 1/2 years....7 days a week, no paid vacation or benefits, minimum wage, and only one day a year off (Christmas Eve because they closed, but were open again Christmas night)...I did this because I had to live. It wasn't a bad job in itself and I got used to it, but when I finally left I swore I'd never work that shift again (and I haven't).
I actually prefer working later shifts.

My favorite job I have had was working the night shift in a hospital (no patient care whatsoever). I liked the autonomy, the responsibility, and the the lack of office politics.

I used to do it in rotation (weekly) with lates and mornings...Hated nights as I can't sleep properly in the day. I was a zombie by wednesday.

Yep. Often cover overnight shifts for colleagues. Everyone needs a night off once in a while it just messes with your head if you never see daylight.

Not since a gun was shoved in my face at a small gas station late at night. That's the reason I started conceal carrying when I turned 21.

As long as it's consistent and not broken into a mixture of day and night shifts.

I did it for 3 years. It’s tolerable. I don’t really like it though.
