In a fast paced environment, do you ever get overwhelmed?

I've been reading a lot of job postings, and they have very similar requirements.

Last time I tried applying for a job was 11 years ago (to get the job I have now), and I'm sure the whole way jobs are marketed and recruited for has changed a lot. In the 1980's when I first entered the workforce there was no online job stuff and the Saturday newspapers were 75 percent filled with job advertisements.

Gradually that shifted to online portals as newspapers died away (and the while concept of print advertising had dimished massively). The big job site here in Australia is called 'Seek'.

I believe HR dept's at big (and not so big) businesses now employ a lot of AI to do early filtering/screening of applications particularly when some jobs have thousands or higher numbers of applicants.

When I was unemployed in 2014/15 and receiving income support I had to apply for 10 jobs a fortnight, and in my field (freight train driver) at the time there was almost nothing so to meet the government compliance requirements a person tended to create cut-and-paste cookie-cutter form applications to send off to a pseudo-random set of businesses knowing that the jobs I could do which I was actually qualified for were (back then) hard to find, esp if I couldn't relocate interstate just to get work (which actually did for a job I was qualified for back in 2008).

Being long-term unemployed (as I was from early 2014 to late 2015) is what triggers a lot of chronic depression and anxiety, and I already had some of that due to personal and relationship issues, so it was not a fun time in my life.
I get so overwhelmed sometimes I have to drink at lunch to calm my nerves but I am getting better over time.
They always make it difficult just to test your loyalty
