I worked with a woman for the last two shifts

I'm a freight train driver for my work. The woman I worked with is 100 percent not attractive to me in any way, and she's socially very intense to the point I tuned out to a lot of what she said that wasn't work related. 8-)

She's really friendly with the other women in the workplace to the point that she socialises with them outside work (she's going to lunch with one of them tomorrow), they go to each other's houses, two of them are helping her look after her dog when she is doing shifts where she works away one day, and back the next (what we did).

I said to her there is no way at all I can approach other women at work for social/casual conversation outside of when I might need to talk to them about work because of the stigma associated with men approaching women to make conversation. She didn't believe me. We got along reasonably well (11 hr shift yeterday and 10 hr one today) but as for any woman at my work who I could even consider to be approachable in a non-professional work-related way I'd be too scared to ever try it.

Three of the women she told me she talks to I've seen at work, but never talked to any of them. One is a manager/admin, the other two are train crew like me and the woman I worked with yesterday and today.

I presume all the women are single and psycho (like the one I just worked with), taken/married with family and partner, or lesbian and taken (and not interested in men).

It's a very male-dominated industry and shiftwork, so it's totally opposite to teaching, nursing, office/admin, etc.
