I worked for a man who surrounded himself with incompetent people

It was a telemarketing company 20 years ago. He put clearly incompetent people in charge on purpose. And put morally bankrupt people in positions as well. I was in the IT department, we reported to corporate so he couldn't touch us. He wanted complete control so that he could make a lot of money allowing the callers to make fraudulent sales unchecked. Breaking down quality control was a big part of it. When a leader purposely destroys procedure, creates chaos and hires incompetents you can be guaranteed there is a motive.
