Does anyone else think this?
I notice that when people are trying to complete a task faster at work, they get irritated with you if you're not also jerking all of your movements like them. Just because you jerk your movements, it doesn't mean you're going any faster. And then they start bumping into each other like idiots.
Smooth and calm movements seem to be more efficient. Jerking your movements appears to be faster but it's really not. More often than not, I see them dropping things or they have this slight pause at the end of each movement because of all the momentum they're putting into their movements.
It reminds me of how my dad gets when he's in a rush. All anxiety, no efficiency.
