Had a pretty bad dust-up with another manager at work today
It's one of those people who thinks they're hot shit just because they are a manager and that everyone's just going to roll over and take their disrespect. This asshole might get away with that with the people working beneath him, but he learned the hard way he's not gonna get away with treating me that way. It started over a discrepancy with some mail. Basically, we received a package for that department, but they didn't do a purchase order for it, so we can't deliver it until they do, which that manager isn't happy about, but that's our department policy so our hands are tied.
It was a bit heated from the start, but things escalated when this guy decided to mouth off to my assistant and I with "Why are you even here?" Basically saying we don't do our job. I told him "Don't talk to me that way." He responded with a sharp "What?" Like he was daring me to repeat myself. I let him know I wasn't intimidated. "You heard me," I told him, but then repeated what I said anyway. Shit blew up from there and ended with this dumbass telling me he's gonna report me to HR. Lmao! And tell them what, he was being rude and unprofessional and I wasn't having it? Wish I had said that to him...
I hope he does go to HR, so they can know exactly what happened and what a jackass this guy is. Yeah, I wasn't acting the most professional either, but I sure as hell didn't start that BS, nor am I sorry for standing up for myself. I take a lot of shit in this job and have so for a long time, but I am not gonna take anyone's abuse. I'm a manager myself and if others think they can walk over me because I work in procurement, because I'm a woman, or whatever it is they think they don't have to respect me, again, they're going to learn the hard way that that shit's not going to fly.
Well, I've had my adrenaline rush for the day... Won't be surprised if this isn't the end of it, but I'm not too worried about any ramifications because there's a hell of a lot more on that dipshit than there is me.
