you ever not get a job due to how you look or

told at your job you need to change something about your appearance be it piercings or whatever?

was offered a 3rd job a bit ago but when went in, they asked if i would shave the beard and when said no, they said It would not work out.
Prob a blessing due to already getting burnt out from 2 jobs and having to leave recently previous job due to being burnt out..

anyway I am bored, this place is kinda dead so I am making conversation that does not revolve around politics and all that tiresome bullshit

Ya, I was constantly told to “smile smile smile smile, you look too sad, why you look so sad”....and “not enough make up” at another place (serving drinks to very wealthy men) lol . I never got those jobs at bars and restaurants and then got a hostess job due to my looks at an Irish restaurant in Manhattan (they preferred white people for their Irish clientele)And even then the owner told me to smile every time he passed by. I hated it and it was embarrassing

@SW-User uggh that sounds so incredibly annoying. I hate getting told to smile just once at the rarest of times.
