I don’t keep them just because they are nice they still need to respect company’s rules.I will make all of them scan their faces two times a day according to their work schedule on that day,time in and time out…because it is really not fair to those that have to work extra to cover for those late or not coming at all,etc Those not good at work or new I will send them for short one day course to upgrade once in awhile and to encourage them to stay long I will raise their pay after a year plus😅 you need to train new people if you are worried about some more experienced ones threatening to leave or you need to know all levels of your business e.g I know this is lame example but easier to think of lol like your main chef wants to quit well,you can cook so you will be the chef till you have someone 🤣

@Shaveit they keep the people employed, because those people are nice. Makes no sense to me cuz I'd fire them.

Fire the ones that call off every Monday/Friday. The ones who are late will get 3 chances to end their tardiness. If they don't end their tardiness after 3 chances, they'll be fired.

Fire them. Discipline is necessary. Don't care how nice they are, they should know how work ethic is.

@iamelijah exactly. But they keep people like that here employed because they're nice people. Doesn't make any sense to me because I would fire them.

Poor attendance = taking advantage of the company
twiigss · M
@nedkelly I agree. However the management here will keep those people employed because they are nice.

It's economics.. Are they still making a profit on the work the late comers and the days off people are producing? If so then financial penalties might be the best option before terminating their employment.. You could also institute a yearly bonus just before Christmas for people with perfect attendance records..

Why not give them flexible hours? They may have serious life issues they are coping with, such as child care, sick relatives, etc.

If you want to run a slave plantation, then you should post it as such.

@Diotrephes get a life

A good manager has the ability to motivate and counsel employees to create ideal employees. When fire is the first thought, it is all going in the wrong direction. I often find people management to be a lost art.
