You own a company, and have 200 employees. Most have been there for 10, 15, 20 years, some have been there for 25 to 30 years. Then you have employees who have been there for 5 to 8 years. Generally, people are nice to each other, but you have instances where some people might not have great attendance, or some people might not be the best at every job, or some people might be late 2 or 3 times a week, or some people might call off every monday and/or fridays.

Do you let go the people who are late, or who call off every monday/friday, or do you keep them because they are nice?

Fire them. Discipline is necessary. Don't care how nice they are, they should know how work ethic is.

@iamelijah exactly. But they keep people like that here employed because they're nice people. Doesn't make any sense to me because I would fire them.
