First of my patients since my job started this April that is nearing death... And I'm already depressed.

He's a young lad. When he realized there's no hope, he finally broke down and cried with his dad 😭 those moments when you feel helpless and guilty even though there's nothing more you could have done and your team has tried everything in their power........ 😭😭😭 I just.... I think I should enroll in therapy before deaths start becoming too overwhelming for me and I end up nonfunctional again....

I am so sorry to hear about that. That's one of the most awful situations to be in. Feeling like there was nothing more you could do...

I definitely think you should enroll in therapy or reach out to a support group for colleagues in your profession. You would be surrounded by people who definitely understand
where you're coming from.

My mom was an ER nurse and she had it pretty rough as well but therapy and just talking about situations like these was tremendously helpful for her.

Hang in there!

I think that's better for you. If you don't feel able to cope you'll be better off moving before you become numb due to trauma.
Some people adapt but you live a half life.
I'm sorry, working in healthcare is soo touch and tougher than people actually think. 🤗😘

My prayers, I care. It takes a special kind of soul to be a caregiver on any level.

Lots of strength. I wouldn't be able to do such kind of work.

Teach yourself that death is followed by renewal. Your calmness will have a soothing effect.
