Macromastia making my life hell!

Heya ladies, I could really use some advice and support.

I've always had bigger boobs than my friends since school and remember the awkward questions and lessons about puberty and how our body changes. I'd be happy if it stopped then, but I guess my girls had other plans..

In the past year I've been slowly but surely ballooning in size. At first I didn't think much of it. I thought to myself it's a laundry mishap and my top was slightly shrunk from the wash, but now I can't ignore the signs. My back is hurting, my boobs are sensitive, and of course, still growing. Now, I can't go out of my house without the constant staring on the street, the struggle of finding clothes that fit, and having to splash out on custom bras every other month (which isn't cheap!) is a nightmare. I'm feeling low and starting to hate myself in the mirror.

Surgery isn't an option for me at this time, meanwhile I'm still growing and I don't know how to handle the pressure that I'm still getting bigger.

What else is there that I could do?

Consult your Doctor as it may be controllable with drugs 🙂🐼🥢

@Anniedlr do you know what treatment options are out there? Here in the UK the NHS service always has delays and waiting lists. My GP agrees it's macromastia but told me there's no treatment outside of surgery

@HarleenQuinzel21 Haha as a Brit I know the problems with the NHS. I’m not a medical practitioner but I suggest you Google “restricting breast growth with drugs” Tamoxifen is one that might help

@Anniedlr Is Tamoxifen safe to take? I've read the effects on Cancer research that it will block my hormones and is used to treat cancer. What would happen to my periods for example, is it similar to birth control?

The last thing I want is to take something that can throw my hormones out of balance

@HarleenQuinzel21 As I said previously I’m not a medical practitioner. I would suggest the best advice is to consult your Doctor
