I Support Breast Cancer Awareness and Finding a Cure

Best part is I had a gene. It is a new gene they are looking for in testing and my insurance paid for it. It is called chek 2. I am BRCA inconclusive. My plastic surgeon said I was his first.

My mother had breast cancer twice. The first time she went through chemo and radiation. (26 years ago). Her sister suffered so many time I lost count. She did not make it. 3 out of 4 sisters had breast cancer.

It is a little overwhelming in ways. I couldn't stop crying when I heard I had a high risk but time let me know what to do. I know I am lucky and need to appreciate my good fortune to have turned the tables. I was a high risk and now I am a very low risk. It is still hard to do. I had my last "fill" today. I will give those interested more details. We all choose.

I took one path. I accept others decisions.

@spkfrly: Yes, I'm due for my mammogram now. I always go and get that done. I have friends that have faced breast cancer and gone through what you are going through also. I pray for a cure in the near future! 👼
