I Support Breast Cancer Awareness and Finding a Cure

I recently was tested for the breast cancer gene and am positive.

Words of advice...choose where you have the testing done wisely. I went to my normal doctors office. I expected if true they would ease me into the diagnosis. The first words she said were you are positive and we recommend a full mastectomy. I was on my lunch hour alone. Hard to concentrate the rest of the day. Since then I have heard of places where they gently walk you through it. Encourage not going alone. This would be my wholehearted recommendation for anyone drciding to be checked.

Next suggestion was to meet with an oncologist. I could go in cancer inhibiting drugs for years and wait.

I've made my decision. I'm getting the mastectomy. It will leave me with almost a 100% of never getting cancer.

I'm building up my support system. Allowing others to love and care for me. Sending out love and light to all I come in contact with during the day. So far I have convinced two women to get tested. This helps in my journey. I want to be a example.

I cry sometimes. It's ok. I love my breast. Don't we all?

Life will still be there for me afterwards. Time to live the rest of it with gusto and gratitude. I'm fortunate. I guess in many ways I'm a survivor.

Love and light to all who read:-)
