My mom was like that with me and my dad but never to anyone in a restaurant. I feel like either she didn’t have confidence in herself, so she couldn’t have confidence in anyone else to do a good job OR she couldn’t stand to have anyone do a better job than she did. Also she was miserable so that’s another aspect
