I Am Trying to Lose Weight

I need to loose weight. I am going to tell you my weight loss story just so I can get the best advice possible. I lost about 20lbs but then gained back 10 and then lost 10 again lol. I have always been around 150lbs but started gaining weight probably in 10th grade I believe I was about 180 or 190 when I graduated. I have been out of highschool for a while now since i am 24 years old now lol. I stopped gaining weight for a while when I was up to 190lbs. I got a job in a hotel and I worked in the laundry room a couple years ago. I had to move around a lot and stand a lot lift things and I moved my arms constantly all day and it was so hot in there so you would sweat just standing. I also barely ate since I didn't have much time to. I ate a little bit for break fast a sandwich or a granola bar for lunch and then a small dinner. I was probably under eating. I lost a lot of weight I was down to 180 which is over weight but I think its a healthy weight for my body type. I have big thighs a big butt and large breast and I do gain a lot of muscle quickly. I eventually quit that job and was out of work for a little while. Ended up gaining all that weight back plus 10 more. I was around 209 lbs and that was really unhealthy for me I didnt feel good and didnt look good. Finally I got another job at a grocery store. I had to do a lot of walking and I got a second job too for a while in a different hotel in the laundry room. I started loosing weight again I got down to 188 so I lost around 21 lbs. But then I just stopped loosing weight and it kept on going from 188 to 197 and back up and down again but never losing more weight. Now I am back to 197. I've noticed that my clothes fit looser and my thighs got smaller and my arms are way smaller and I have more muscle tone and less flab on my lower arms my butt is more rounded and all that. But my lower stomach wont really change. I noticed that I lost a lot of fat around my rib area. My lower stomach starting around my belly button isnt as big as it was but I feel like its sticking out more than it use to even though its smaller. I just feel like its hanging on and wont come off. It isnt loose skin or anything but its just fat. What can I do to get rid of it. The only thing that has worked for me is when I forget to eat and I am constantly moving.

Do you have diabetes in your genetics/ancestry?

Since December 2016 I have lost 50 lbs.

The way I did this was to assess my metabolic syndrome. My family has rampant diabetes.
It suggests that I too am insulin resistant.

To this end I cut out all flour and sugar from my diet. The only carbohydrates I eat are seeds, nuts and green vegetables (the boring kinds yes I know). My diet as tracked for the past 6 months has been 75% fat, 20-23% protein and 2-5% carbohydrates (again this non-flour, non-sugar carbohydrates). It's very easy for me to maintain this regimen because I get to eat lots of butter, red meat, bacon, eggs and all of the alleged 'no-no' foods.

This diet is best described as 'Ketogenic.' Again, because I am insulin resistant, this diet melted the weight off my body. I only started exercising in the last 2 months. Most of the weight was lost with just the dietary change. The only downside besides being lean for the first time in about 10 years is that the very first 4 days of this diet were hell. My body was addicted to sugar and flour and I went through a fatigued and grumpy withdrawal period. After that I noticed my energy was more consistent throughout the days.

Keep us posted and feel free to msg me if you have any other questions.

@ImnotAngela: it may or may not work for you. My partner tried this diet and it did not result in extreme weight loss.

I should add that I have blood work twice and my triglycerides have fallen to less than half of the allowable maximum.

As far as exercise goes. Get a kettle bell. It's high intensity and works wonders for slimming down.
