Weight Loss -easy to put on, not easy to take off

I travel and therefore I eat. I lost the 5 lbs I put on after my Egypt trip but with my knee surgery and my eating patterns, I went up a whole dress size. I am back at the gym now and easing back into my usual routine I am kind of petite. I can't afford to be heavy. I made all kinds of dietary changes but i could not budge the weight.

My high school reunion is coming next year and i intend on looking good. With that being said, I went to a doctor supervised weight loss program. He told me this should go fast (if I don't kill someone) since i only need to go down a size. He said he can take me to a size 6 but I am not interested.

This is no walk in the park. For one week, I can only eat lean protein and water. Nothing else. Yesterday I got weepy and depressed and i was only on Day 1. I would have killed for a Happy Meal. I can no longer stop at Costco for my hotdog or Dunkin Donuts.

If i snap at you, just know that I am suffering bigly.

I agree…. It’s very difficult to lose the weight. Diet matters way more than exercise. Somewhere between the onset of the pandemic, and October of 2021, I lost a hundred pounds. Forty on my own with portion-control, some keto supplements, and plenty of exercise. But the other sixty, I lost in a matter of six weeks on a formal, healthy-habits diet. All I can say is stay the course and be disciplined, and you should see some great results 👍🏻

@Ambroseguy80 That is a lot of weight. I sure tried to do it that way. stopped juices, fast food, artificial sweeteners and nothing helped

@akindheart it’s all about the balance of your macronutrients and limiting sugars and salts drastically. Eating right will keep your body in a constant state of fat burn - even while you are sleeping.

@Ambroseguy80 well i have these 2 bad habits. Diet coke and donuts. I almost cried yesterday because i always get 2 donuts

@akindheart I empathize. Nothing about weight-loss is easy. Especially when certain foods give us comfort.

@Ambroseguy80 and when you remove all carbs??? that affects me big time. even fruit for now.
Ambroseguy80 · 51-55, M
@akindheart yes! Not all carbs. But many of them. I’m a chip kind of guy. Though I can say by following my diet - I was rarely hungry because you eat something small every three hours.
akindheart · 61-69, F
@Ambroseguy80 I love chips. another weakness.

@akindheart I do too. My trouble is - I buy things in for the kids - then they don’t eat them and I end up eating it. 😂

@Ambroseguy80 i know!! i drove by Costco to get gas. I thought the car was going to automatically steer in for my hotdog.
Ambroseguy80 · 51-55, M
@akindheart that would be quite a vehicle 🚗 😋
akindheart · 61-69, F
@Ambroseguy80 LOL. i am on automatic pilot when it comes to food-just habit
Ambroseguy80 · 51-55, M
@akindheart and that’s just it. We don’t even realize how much we consume out of habit. The FitBit is really good for keeping a food log.
akindheart · 61-69, F
@Ambroseguy80 i just bought the fitbit 4. still have no clue what all it does.
Ambroseguy80 · 51-55, M
@akindheart the app is where you can track food and calories. I’ve actually become less on top of my calorie intake with me new workload, so I’ve gained some weight back.

@Ambroseguy80 i have a bunch of trips planned. one being a 12 day cruise to Japan. now how successful do you think i will be there?
Ambroseguy80 · 51-55, M
@akindheart eating healthy on a journey is probably difficult to do
