I Want to Lose Weight

I set out with an intermittent fasting goal of 16:8. Have to cook all my meals. One small cheat snack a day. 1 cheat meal a week. Outside of that, no processed foods, only whole grains.

Day 1 went awesome. I was barely hungry at all during my fast! I stuck to it easily and by the next day I had lost 1/2 lb.

Day 2 was miserable...absolutely miserable....I was having terrible hunger pangs, and then just felt sick. Bad headache, and just genuinely felt BAD. But I followed my diet perfectly again. Forgot to check weight next day.

Day 3 didn't feel so bad! I woke up with stomach cramps from hunger but once those passed I was pretty ok. But when night time came I was completely ravenous, I could not stop eating and I messed up my fasting.

Day 4, today, I weighed myself and I had gained back nearly all the weight I'd lost from the first day of my diet. I felt very disheartened and wondered if changing the hours for my fast would help. It did not help, once again at night I was absolutely ravenous and have been gobbling down everything in sight.

So I am a bit stuck as to what to do. Do I take a step back on the fasting and try less hours and do a 14:10 window to start? Should I quit the IF entirely and just focus on the rest of my diet? I don't know. I wish I had some sort of nutrition weight loss coach.

Fasting is never a good way for loosing weight...

@LostGuy my doctor recommended it to me because it increases insulin sensitivity apparently. But I have found that when I fast, I tend to binge eat when coming off the fast. I think what works best for me is eating a balanced and healthy meal every 3-4 hours instead.

Thanks!
