If this rainy weather persists for another month while I am here, I will look like a ghost when I return home!

I suppose when the prevailing winds are from the west, there has to be expected rain. When the air makes landfall, all the moisture it is carrying it will dump as soon as it feels the difference in pressure or something. I can't remember too much of my climatology from Geography classes.
