It makes me want to take a nap as I listen to it hitting the roof.

It makes me feel melancholic and peaceful. It makes me want to do creative things, read, write or nap. It makes me feel like preparing warm drinks (coffee, tea, chocolate). To slow down and just relax with my thoughts. Perfect time to recharge^^. Always love seeing the sun peak through after ^^.

At the moment, it would make me feel absolutely delighted that I haven't got to go into the garden and water the plants again. We are having quite serious water shortage issues at the moment.

the truth is -

when i was a child, young teen, i would go to the woods behind our house and dance in the rain - naked - it was a wonderful feeling of freedom...

i wish i could recapture that now!

I look for the flashlight in case the power goes and drop my apple cores into the storm drain...maybe a tree will grow somewhere. I feel kind of breezy and alive.

Different things. Depends on the time of the year, the temperature, what's going on in life and my mood.

A light rain on a hot summer days feels energizing, invigorating, relief, restorative. So can a hard rain after a period of drought.

When the weather switches from snow to the first spring rains that bring about the first sprigs of green grass and tree buds - and that petrichor smell that precedes it- is life giving, initiates feelings of hope, promise, growth, change.

Some major summer storms in the Midwest US can be scary, if not terrifying, full of awe and wonder and respect for the destructive power of nature.

Sometimes after 4-7+ days of clouds, more rain can bring melancholy, and worsen depression and low moods. Sometimes even hopelessness.

An autumn rain and the smells mixing with fallen damp decomposing leaves can make me feel a little sad because I know another long dark winter is about to set in. Often I catch these smells when camping and I don't particularly enjoy a long cool rain filled weekend when you just can't escape the dampness and all you want is warmth and dryness. Its kind of irritating and disappointing.

I love rain. I love walking in it, taking my lover’s hand and running out into it, kissing in it, feeling it on my face, my skin. I love the sound of it on the roof and against the windows. I love the wrath of a thunderstorm, the power, the build up, the climax, and the softening that comes with it. Yes, give me a good rainstorm every now and then. I need my sunshine, and I crave the rain.
