Damn weather. Is anyone else tired of this?

Turning back on the AC for the next three days. I wasn't really paying attention, then the house started feeling warm, so I checked the weather. It's good to keep getting warmer. Then it's going to drop 20 degrees.

I hate that because I start getting ready for cooler weather. Then I get warm, then boom, it gets colder, and I feel like I'm freezing 24/7

@WanderingHelplessly I can deal with the cold much easier than I can the heat it's very difficult to cool down it's a lot easier to warm up.

@Gibbon I understand that

No. I like that no heating is needed yet. It is weird, it is unhealthy for the nature but truth to be told, it feels good.

We are still in the 90s here so i still have my central air on.
Gibbon · 70-79, M
@lissah yeah, I know you guys never got a break. We did. It dropped into the fifties overnight for almost a week. Now we got three days of heat coming back at us.
lissah · 36-40, F
@Gibbon we had 25 days of over 100 °. Yeah it will probably be awhile before we turn the air off.

@lissah The airstream that could have given you relief got trapped by the Appalachian Mountains on the east. We've had heat cycles all summer, but nothing rock steady like you experienced.

We have had an unseasonable lift in temperatures as well, including overnight. Most disconcerting. Not quite warm enough for AC in the house, though. Which is just as well as mine hasn't been installed yet. 😀

@FreddieUK I have a vague memory of box fans in the windows. Honestly, I don't know how you guys have gone so many years without. I don't think it's even a luxury. I think it's an everyday necessity in the summertime. It's always been my experience. It's much easier to get warm than it is to get cool
FreddieUK · 70-79, M
@Gibbon We've managed, because extreme heat has been infrequent and short-lived until 2002. Since then, it's become more sustained and records are being broken frequently.
Gibbon · 70-79, M
@FreddieUK well, I'm in Maryland, central east coast, we've had temperatures in the high 80s to the 100s, even back then when I was in high school, the only thing that's different now is the duration of the heat wave, the upper temperatures really haven't changed, what has changed is that the cold spells are not as steep as they used to be in the winter time. We had a freakish eight to ten day below freezing cold spell this winter with snow. That was a rare occasion and the snow turned into solid ice. It was about eight inches thick.

That's just it. I haven't had to run any heat. Even though we've had a week of it down into the fifties at night before this three day heat wave decided to come back and punch me in the face.
