It is a chilly day for summer and rude ignorant people
It feels more like early autumn. Though the temperature was almost 80 degrees at noon time and 1 pm,( which is cool and chilly for summer) the temperature quickly fell into the low 70s and upper 60s as the afternoon progressed and the evening came. It’s raining a lot and i get very annoyed with these cold snaps. I just have my window open since it was just about 80 degrees earlier to let fresh air in my room but I’m in a long sleeve Henley shirt, two thick fleeces and lightly lined fleece lined joggers and sheepskin lined moccasin slippers or mid weight socks to keep warm.my parents have the air conditioning on in the house upstairs and I see no need for it. The house is like 73 or 74. Downstairs with the ac off is 75-77. I like my summers to be really hot in the 90s even though even then I sweat a lot. Though 75- 80 degrees high for the day is not cold it still straddles the borderline between chilly and mild. It’s very cool for summer. Last night the temps dropped to the upper 50s around 60. That’s a chilly night and morning I had a light blanket on me with my window open. Granted it makes for comfortable sleeping. And my parents had the ac on last night. Which I found annoying but three to one members of the house need it for comfort. I sleep naked and I put on mid weight pajamas and two fleece robes to keep warm when I got out of bed with sheepskin lined Ugg slippers or lambswool, camisole, and underwear. I swear I should have been raised somewhere like low desert southwest USA including inland desert of California, Texas, or somewhere else in the Deep South east south central because of the climate and weather being more aligned with what I consider warm and cold and people get more easily cold like me because they are so used to the heat and in some places humidity with temps in the 90s in the summer that a day like today would be almost cold in comparison. I wish I didn’t grow up in the northeast USA because all my life many people thought it was warm when I thought it was still freezing cold and thought it was very hot when I thought the weather was pleasant and just mild/ warm. For instance. Most of the people around here find 80 degrees to be hot whereas I find it to be pleasant. I’m still in a thick sweater (cardigan or pull over ) or if not a sweater a light to mid weight jacket Long sleeves and maybe jeans and sheep skin lined moccasin flats. Or fleece line leggings under skirts, dresses, shorts and light socks and lightweight boots. In the mornings m, evenings and nights I wear mid weight jackets coats and warm thick scarves to keep warm when it is like 50-60 even 65 overnight. Though I have met southerners who adapted well to the colder northern USA, I don’t have that excuse. I even met people from the tropics like Bangladesh. Who got used to New England cold weather and find the weather in their native country to be too hot now. People have thought I was sick and not feeling well from being bundled up in 60 degree weather and I was asked that which is really rude and ignorant. Hell in the summer my sisters friends asked her if I had cancer because I was bundled up and warmly dressed which is obnoxious. ( this was before I actually got diagnosed with cancer.) it hits below 75-80 degrees for the day and I pull out all my winter attire and accessories out to keep warm. Yeah some people give me strange looks which is an ignorant thing to do and my parents think that everyone who encounters me and doesn’t know me must think something is wrong with me for how i dress ( which I find to be ridiculous surely not everyone thinks something is wrong with me or is even thinking about my clothes when they see me but my parents say stuff that I look like a buffoon and clown the way I am dressed which is immature, rude, and insulting. My sister sometimes exclaimed oh wow with a look of disbelief on her face when she saw the way I was dressed. My grandparents told me when I went out with them I didn’t need to bring a coat and scarf for the weather my sweater and pants were enough. I brought them for the evening when it cools down and wore a mid weight wool blend coat and thick scarf to walk around the neighborhood at like 6-7 pm when it was cooling down from an a day in the low 80s and they were in disbelief and I told them I was fine wearing them. My issues with people and my clothing is one of the reasons I wanted to leave New England in the first place and move somewhere warm where I didn’t have to put up with my family’s criticism and “concerns for my health.” My family is scared I am going to get a heat stroke and end up in the hospital when I have told them
I am fine. They insist on making stupid stipulations when I go out with them to restaurants that I take off my outer cold weather coats and cold weather accessories so I said no and didn’t go out with them to restaurants and. They hadn’t. Enforced it when I went to celebrate my grandparents 60 th wedding anniversary but I wonder if they will try to enforce it again? Sometimes I think my family is thick in the head. For example when it’s 80-85 degrees outside why would it be hot enough to go swimming if I’m in a sweater and pants and sheepskin lined moccasin shoes? Hello why would I go to the pool? Can’t you tell just by how I’m dressed I’m not hot? My aunt and uncle can be thick in the head.. my whole family is thick in the head when it comes to me, heat, and how I dress much more warmly and bundled up compared to everyone else. They even have the audacity to compare me to others and mention how abnormal and crazy it is the way I dress. My parents are controlling and critical when it comes to how I dress. My grandparents are critical and opinionated with how I dress. My grandfather said it was well into the 80s I didn’t even need a sweater coat /cardigan which I felt comfortable in with a tunic blouse and trouser leggings. never mind a mid weight jacket/coat and warm scarf for our outings. I brought them the jacket. And scarf in case the weather changed.)We would be back by six pm when my sister came home but still it’s New England. I think my family needs and other people need to keep their comments to themselves or I will tell them off. I don’t care if it’s aggressive communication or not. I am sick to death of the commentary on my clothing. People need to learn to keep their comments to themselves and to be fair I have met people who shut up and don’t say anything negative about my clothing. They might say they like synthetic silk flower in my hair or they like my sweater print. How can something so petty and trivial be considered such a big deal and to be honest even when it’s. Like 90 something or 100 degrees out when the ac is blasting inside I don’t know how people aren’t cold in bare legs and bare arms with no sweater or jacket inside. I go from sweating my brains out to needing something like a fleece to keep warm. It could be 75-80 out overnight and I’ll still put on a warm sweater cardigan or lighter jacket like a fleece and wear light pants even if the day was 90 something or 100. I will switch from bare arms and bare legged skirts and dresses and shorts unless it’s a maxi skirt or dress which cover my legs with knee length light leggings or biker shorts underneath.
As far as swimming, I do not how to swim much and I don’t wear bathing suits because they are far too revealing. It’s like wearing a bra and panties in public. In 100+ degrees the only swimwear I would wear to take a dip in are dresses or a shirt like a shell top and shorts. I am very conservative in how I dress and act. With the exception of being pansexual, I’m pretty modest actually.
