I think very few could.

Temperatures that high have always been very rare even in Southern Europe.

Only of heat. The sun-light is constant.

Some parts probably could, but sadly a lot of the older folk suffer and some even die.

@meggie True; but dehydration and heatstroke can affect anyone.

A number of young people have died too, chiefly youths and young men, by being tempted to cool off by throwing themselves into cold water. They might be able to swim but fall victim to the cold shock.

I was talking to my Spanish homie few weeks ago, he's from the south, I didn't think Spain gets that hot.
