Gentle rains do, not too loud of thunder though. That means lightning could hit nearby including the house and setting it on fire. But I sleep like a baby when it is not storming. I watch rainy day and night cabin videos and that helps me fall sleep sometimes.

Only if not too intense - but where I am,some are.In January last year,an intense thunderstorm in my city saw 200,000 lightning strikes recorded in 2 hours across the metropolitan area.

Not really, no. The crack of thunder and the flash of lightning startles me. Luckily we don’t get thunderstorms here very often. ⚡⛈
