Prediction is for a La Nina and it's looking like it's coming to fruition. Where I am it's way warmer than average. Cold, along with how much daylight, triggers trees to turn. In the forest, which is predominantly maple and some aspen, we're late too.
I don't think temperature has anything to do with trees losing their leaves. Seems a internal cellular clock does it for most life that lives seasonally. I can usually judge what climate and latitudw a tree or animal is from (if a invasive or non-native species) by when it dies or dissapears. They are synchronized to a climate somewhere.
Same in the spring when stuff blooms. A weird looking tree that blooms well before most native species is likely not from around here, but someplace further south where it is warmer sooner.

I just turned the water back up to summer schedule, it's not over yet. Getting another heatwave.

@Moneyonmymind 🤔The Earth is warming, that's a fact, however there's nothing you or I can do about that.
I prefer warmer winter's, I live in a climate that is not Freezing for just that reason.
