Autumn Day?

Lord: it is time. The summer was long.
Now lay Your long shadows over the sundials,
and let the winds loose over the fields.

"Herbsttag", Rainer Maria Rilke, 1902

This poem is a prayer. Looking at the weather forecast, I imagine it’s a glimpse into how holy souls feel in Purgatory: knowing that the celestial autumn airs are around the corner - but that fires continue in the meantime.

tl;dr - I'm hot, again.

@SW-User Well, technically. I just thought of the poem really!

Although the Celts did apparently date autumn from 1st August (and the other seasons equivalently in November, February, and May)
