Unusual cold spell on weather frozen pipes possible

I live in south Mississippi we're experiencing a bad cold spell. This is unusual for the area. Its currently 24° outside. Our trmps are usually 50s to 60s high... upoer 30s low...
We forgot to let fausets drip....I got ip early this morning and realized theres no hot water! Arrg
Were letting it drip now from hot water.
I suppose were going to be trying to defrost the pipe later .....
Arg what else to do?

Don’t run your washing machine either like I did! Now my kitchen and dining room are flooded! You can leave your cabinets open and put a space heater next to the pipes to thaw them out. I’m in Tennessee and been going through the same thing. I did leave mine dripping but my cold water still froze for a few hours, but it’s ok now.

@Mardrae Ahh cold weather dilemmas!! We moved from Phoenix 2 years ago and am not use to this! Grew upnin New England but that was 35 or better years ago.
Tried to run dishwasher it shut off wouldnt run...good safety thing I guess. Maybe it could have flooded too?
We get a new unit on the 30th then have to have it installed Fun times...
Hope your doing better up in Tennessee.
Down here in South Mississippi the weather in the 20s etc is very unusual!!

@aradia11 it’s been in the teens here. Definitely unusual weather for this time of year. A few days in January maybe, but not December. Yeah, I wouldn’t run your dishwasher either!
