I Prefer Warm Weather To Cool Weather

I feel the cold terribly! The last week has been so cold. The ice warning has come on in Dad’s car every morning. But now it’s warmer. It’s 12 degrees! And the county council just emailed me an Amber weather warning. It’s raining so hard and in town the traffic lights were shaking back and fore in the wind. I live near the Atlantic.

ikr, it got so cold overnight this week, I had to get a sheet out to put over me in the night :p

Teasing aside, that does sound very cold for this time of year, for Wales.

Wales is right by one of the places in the Atlantic which is going to get colder as a result of global warming. And it is already. @firefall

@BlodynHafJones Yah, when the Gulf Stream shuts down, the UK will get a lot colder (so will Florida, some, but it can afford it).

Well, there's a spare bed here any time you want to escape for a florida holiday :)

Firefall? You are a bit sexy. @firefall

@BlodynHafJones oops, not meant like that. A spare bed in a spare room, nothing romantic.

I’m sorry. There’s a huge area opening up in the Atlantic. Because of global warming. And this area’s huge. It’s forcing cold water down past my country. It’s why we get snowing in October. @firefall

@BlodynHafJones Oh yes, that's the absence of the Gulf Stream, which has (til now) acted as a current of warm water starting in the Caribbean, running up the East Coast of the US, then across and down the west coast of the UK, transferring a lot of warmth. With that being overturned by the waters off the american coast getting too warm*, the whole of the UK is going to be more like Germany in winter (i.e. really cold and snowy).

*actually why it's happening is disputed, but that it's happening seems widely agreed.

We always have snow in October now. @firefall
@BlodynHafJones not in the east...

I guess we’re a bit high up. Llanelli don’t get much snow. But it can do. @TheSirfurryanimalWales
@BlodynHafJones I will be in Llanelli in three weeks -more rugby-and Carmarthen a couple of weeks later.
