Sighs. It's nice to think that America was great with the wild west.
Lots of people want to make America Great Again.

I think school shootings have a much longer history than you know, Misty.
"The earliest known United States shooting to happen on school property was the Pontiac's Rebellion school massacre on July 26, 1764, where four Lenape American Indian entered the schoolhouse near present-day Greencastle, Pennsylvania, shot and killed schoolmaster Enoch Brown, and killed nine or ten children (reports vary). Only two children survived." [and that was even before we were the United States]

@Thinkerbell Respectfully, I think school shootings are a symptom as opposed to anything like the root cause.
IMO, it's selfishness and an inability to respect "liberal" ideas like the 10 commandments that are the the bigger problem.
If thou shalt not kill, like thou shalt not bear false witness or covet thy neighbor's wife actually meant anything, we'd be in better shape.
But the idea behind all of these things is sacrifice for the common good, and that's where the problem is.
Trumpism is all about rejecting the common good in favor of selfishness, and morality and all those liberal ideas that we developed over hundreds of thousand years should be ignored. Vote for Trump. Believe in him, and don't listen to anyone else.
Granted, he's not unique, but he's got a good handle on the idea that humans are not angels and we need to look after ourselves and not sacrifice our self interest for the "other."

"Granted, he's [Trump's] not unique..."
The understatement of the century, yet you seem to focus all your venom on him.
Trump is not my idea of a gentleman either, but liberal politicians and the media hate him not because he may be a crook, or because he may be a liar, or he may be uncouth, but because he spilled the beans about their own rampant corruption in the cozy old boy network.
And "...thou shalt not bear false witness..." is a "liberal" idea?!
Have you listened to Joe Biden, Nancy Pelosi or Chuck Schumer lately?

@Thinkerbell Honestly, I haven't recently, because the current folks calling themselves liberals or conservatives aren't really my issue, as much as the rejection of norms, like the 10 commandments, (not that they're perfect in any of their "translations"), but the the idea of striving for the betterment of the nation, and also, humanity, is, I think, significant to why we have government, and even leaders, if you want to take us back to cave man days.
Trump is my personal punching bag, for sure, because he's unapologetically dishonest, self interested and willing to say, 'trust me, they're all like me, but believe me," but tbh, he's not the first "reform politician" or "business guy" trying to pull a fast one one voters I've come across, as much as the must successful one.
