Build a wall around the school with razor wire and put armed guards all around with 24 hours surveillance cameras. Bonus it will also make it a warm and cozy inviting place for children. They'll be wanting to go to school!
Or you could just stop a culture of guns for everyone like most other western civilized countries. And with that consider practicing social democracy. And no social does not mean communism! Social is when you openly share what's good for the community with the public's consent. Free access to mental healthcare and hospitals, infrastructure, parks, public transportation, schools, .......

@Tman123 They stopped the culture of guns in Russia and China, I am sure they feel better about their freedoms and their health care system.

@Johnson212 I have actually toured both China and Russia (prior to Putin starting the war). And both countries felt very safe especially China. What's interesting the Chinese people really don't view their government negatively like I thought the would. I was raised to have a strong disdain for all things communist and I had an eye opener when I went to there. They may not be able to criticize the government directly, but they are free to do so many things we couldn't do here because of all our rules and regulations. Don't get me wrong I still rather live in the west, but we can't always believe everything we see on the news and or what our leaders tell us about those countries. So I'm not proposing we need autocratic control to fix things, but rather true social democracy or as close as you can get. When we all as citizens share in the cost of things like healthcare it's good for all of us. I personally don't mind paying taxes as long as it is fair, equal, and the money is spent responsibly.

That sounds good but you know how people hate to pay taxes, especially if the programs will benefit minorities. Besides, who is going to do all of that work? It takes a lot of training to practice in the mental healthcare field and in hospitals and to be a good teacher. You can't pay those workers minimum wages. Are you OK with a $5,000 to $15,000 tax increase to pay for all of that free stuff?

@Diotrephes You could try properly taxing the rich.

@Diotrephes Taxing unearned income at least as highly as earned would be a good start. Even here in social democratic Norway income from investment is taxed at lower rates than income from work.

@ninalanyon
When people make monetary investments in businesses, aren't they in essence creating jobs for people? So, can't it be said that they are being rewarded with lower taxes for their good deeds?

@Diotrephes Why should they be rewarded with lower taxes? It's not as if those jobs (if any) were created out of some charitable impulse and anyway the profit is generated by those working people.

@ninalanyon
If the rich did not invest their money into businesses, would there be any real jobs for the poorer people? Look at other countries for the answer.

@Diotrephes How can rich people avoid investing? They have to keep the money somewhere.
