I Was Taught How To Use A Gun

I'm not a gun expert or anything but my dad raised me to respect guns and how to use one in case of emergencies. I hope I won't ever have to use my gun knowledge but knowing how to fire a gun makes me feel safer especially as a petite young woman with admittedly not a lot of muscle. I'm pro stricter gun laws but I'm still pro guns and I think more women should look into owning a gun or at least receiving some gun training.

I used to shoot competitively so I do have some rifle and hand gun experience. It is a skill you have to practice to keep in top form.

@hippyjoe1955 I agree. I g down to a shooting range with my pops about 2-3 times a year but I'm trying to get into the habit of going more often. Busy lives though yknow ? Thanks for a rational and helpful comment unlike the butthead who also commented

@TexChik Yes I used to be able to put 10 rounds out of ten rounds in a 1/4" bulls eye from 20 yards using only peep sights. My eyes aren't that good anymore.

@hippyjoe1955 rifle ?
hippyjoe1955 · 61-69, M
@TexChik Yes .22 caliber 'gopher rife'. A pistol is never that accurate. My second favorite was a 6 mm (.223) at 200 yards with a 4X scope. If I was aiming at something living it wasn't living much longer.

@hippyjoe1955 6mm is close to .243 isn’t it ? For varmints I use a .22-250 with a 6.5x20 scope . It’s a one hole Gun!

@TexChik Yes technically you are absolutely correct. We used to call our 223 6 mm since it was easier to say. 6 mm is actually 5.56 which is a mouthful.
