I support the right to bear arms, and I am in favor of sensible gun safety laws. Every gun owner should be required to take a gun training class. An untrained person with a gun is a huge danger to themselves and others. To buy a handgun a person should be required to have a handgun owner's permit. That would require a background check, waiting period and a gun safety training class. We need an assault weapons ban. We need strong liability laws holding gun owners accountable for reckless misuse of a firearm.
