What would you do if someone threw rocks at YOU ?

Wasnt really sure where you were coming from on this.. All I can think of is how utterly imbecilic Trump's words are.. he honestly makes me want to puke with his ignorance... Can the man not speak an intelligent sentence? As for the it's the military.. THEY are trained, they can and should protect themselves but this is not a case where they should be acting in anything other than a planned rational way.

Some people are expecting the military to suck up any encounters of that nature.

That is not what they are employed for surely?

@Nimbus What if they just glare at them with malice? Is that enough justification for you to blow someone away? What if the troops felt threatened because someone was waving another country's flag and the enlistees thought they needed to stand their ground?

It's all good, legal justification for taking a life, right?

@Nimbus ok so two parts to that.. what would I do and do I expect the military to suck up encounters.. Taking the last one first.. yea.. you bet I expect them to suck it up.. I expect them to be trained.. to be above retaliation that's not thought through, planned and reasonable.. I expect them to plan and anticipate ways to control and protect themselves.. I expect them to be trained to do that and disciplined enough to do it.. No accidents.. Soldiers can and do get put on trial where they act without thinking and in that position, like police officers they should be controlled at all times..

What would I do.. I am reactive.. I would probably hit them.. hard.. but see I am not a trained disciplined soldier.. I don't have my country's rep and the safety of public and my country as my responsibility.. I wouldn't be doing a job.. In a job we have to do as we are told.. we are acting in a role we are paid for..

@Nimbus You and I think that way.. but that's cos we havent undergone training.. thing is.. police officers are humans too. but they have to be able to control their actions or they face losing their job.. same with military.. part of the job is being able to obey orders.. to put that before your own wants desires and reactions.. Mistakes happen but often they do get punished for them
