The vision of sharia law is to end the world of non-followers. It is a law of hateful destruction.

@Gibbon "Worship Allah or die." It's comparable to the inquisition. No religion, no religious fanatics have the right to tell other people how they should be living their lives. This is archaic stuff. In the OT of the bible, people were stoned for breaking the Mosaic law. That was also archaic and barbaric. Jesus said, "Let the one who is without sin be the first to cast a stone."

HTS had promised to finish off Hezbollah but seemingly even that's not enough for Israel , who are about to annex the rest of the Golan Heights and are bombing Damascus right now.

@EarthlingWise Maybe they should have done that while Assad was in power and in cahoots with Iran and Hezbollah and actively attacking them , no ?
It's opportunism on Netanyahu's part and more madness from Smotrich , who said while in Paris in 2023 , that a 'Greater Israel' (as foretold in scripture ,lol) should reach as far as Damascus.

@LegendofPeza we can also quote Al Jolani then, but there's only one source of evil, isn't there? Whatever, I'm off it, have fun.

This is what Israel wants. They have been wanting to overthrow Assad for years and grab land from Syria. An unstable Middle East means Israel can do as it wishes.
Jokersswild · 22-25
@emiliya I'm hoping it backfires. Israel and the US thinks this means the end of the Axis of resistance. Iran can no longer get weapons to hezbollah or so it seems. Although Iran had managed to get weapons to hamas via the Philadelphia corridor. Im sure iran is thinking of a solution. Half of the rebels have gone home. Mant of them were not even from Syria. Right now, nothing is clear.

Good riddance Assad. What happens next is not going to be pretty and there's going to be more bloodshed. The Islamists lack the popular support to win, but may have the equipment to win initially.
Jokersswild · 22-25
@Northwest Are the Rebels done fighting? It seems like it's all over and the country is ready to vote in a new government. Reports claim Assad is making overtures to the US.

@Jokersswild
Huh???
Have you seen the news? Assad no more.
And not, it's not over. The "rebels" are not a single entity. At some point, the extremists are going to force another war.
