I was actually right across the river by Paramus NJ in a diner waiting to pick up a load of welded steel. I went in and the first tower was on the diner TV news burning. We all watched but weren't alarmed. Minutes later the second plane hit. The diner immediately emptied out. Everyone knew something terrible was going on. By the time I got back to my truck fighter jets were everywhere. The news wasn't giving out information but said all roads are closed and stay put. I tried to call home ( New Mexico) but there was no cell service. I didn't even know if those fighter jets were ours.
