My sweet boy Link

He came home from school today, washed his hands and face, and headed straight for the snack drawer to get a Go-Gurt. But we were out.
Without thinking, he called out, “Daddy, we’re out of Go-Gurts!

And then he remembered.
His little face changed, and the tears came. 💔

It was one of those tiny, ordinary moments that suddenly feels anything but ordinary. I think sometimes it’s the little things that remind them the most.
A big hug, some applesauce, and a little Mario Kart snuggled up in his bean bag chair seemed to make things a bit better.

I wish Jeremy could have been here for all these little moments. I know he would have laughed, gotten him another snack, and then probably challenged him to Mario Kart. ❤

Jeremy took care of all those little things the children expected of him. You are doing great Joel, you came up with a solution and things moved ahead. You can do this. 🤗

@Gusmanthank you, i feel like I'm failing right now. I turned off his debit card and forgot to add a new one so our Sunday snack ordered didn't go through. I've now Bubby's card to that and place a double order of snacks
I call those landmines and they do seem to appear more frequently at the beginning of the grieving process. I remember seeing watermelon at the supermarket and having to leave immediately because I was in tears. It was his favorite fruit.

Landmine…… cry…… move forward…… landmine…… cry…… move forward. A sad part of life for awhile. But you’ll get through, no stronger motivation than your beloved children. 🫂
