In a few thousand years, will people of the future think that the Super Mario Bros was some sort of ancient folklore?

I mean...
I been reading about some ancient Norse mythology, and it kinda sounds like an ancient videogame if they were to have the technology back then

That kind of wild speculation could only happen if, somehow, the historal record of our society was lost.

Everything is so well documented now there's no room for people not knowing in the future
@deadgerbil maybe regarding Super Mario, but despite all documentation, there's plenty of room for people not knowing/understanding things even now. Just look at the US elections, Covid vaccins, etc.

@NerdyPotato I should've been more clear. Conspiracy or ignorant people who can't Google a question to save their own lives will always be around

I'm talking about educated people of the future. There will be no room for them to wildly speculate about our current lives to crazy degrees to conflate games with folklore and religion

Everything is so well documented, unlike the past, where so much of history is lost that the most sophisticated historians and archeologist of today can do nothing but speculate

@deadgerbil but how do you know that historical documents won't get lost in the future? 🤔

@Fishy it would take a nuclear armageddon to cause something like that, in which case, who is to say we would even survive as a species?

@deadgerbil ya never know 🤷
